What Happens When Good Photographers Get Together…

By Dream A Little Dream Photography

So the other day, a few photographers and I got together in downtown Gilbert to shoot around! I only knew Dawniele, but was so excited to meet the others who joined in the fun. We had a wonderful time! I’ll post my shots of them in this entry and the shots they all got of me in a separate one when they are all done. Enjoy!

LOVE this one in b&w too!

My Bucket List is below, if you are interested in helping me fulfill any of these, please email me: ashleyjanephoto@gmail.com.
Here are the rules and guidelines:
1.) Any shoot requirements are listed in the description and MUST be met, no exceptions.
2.) Only 1 shoot per family.
3.) All shoots are priced as listed, no exceptions.
4.) If shoots are done outside a 25 mile radius of 85226, a travel fee will be charged depending on distance traveled.
5.) Every shoot will include a CD of images
6.) If you’d like to submit a suggestion, please do not be offended if I do not choose to do it as part of my Bucket List with its special pricing. As always, if you’d like to book a regular shoot, I’d be happy to try any ideas you can come up with!

1.) Red Gown shoot – for this shoot, lady must be over 18 (no adult content involved, I just need a woman, not a girl). You must provide your own gown. It must be red and flowy and big, preferably strapless. I can help with hair and make-up if need be. Would prefer to do this in Flagstaff at Lake Mary. $50

2.) Vintage little girl with balloons- need a little girl 3 or 4 (no older than 7) to wear a vintage little dress and play with helium filled balloons on a string (10-15) which client will need to provide. $40

3.) Wedding in Europe- no charge, just need all expenses covered for me, an assistant and a second shooter.

4.) Grown daughter and her mother- this will be a vogue style shoot, clients will need to provide their own chic attire, approved by me. $20

5.) Formal dresses in unusual settings- you will need to provide your own gown, I would like to do a few of these. $50

6.) Cloudy day couple’s umbrella shoot- this will be tricky to time, but here’s the setting… cloudy day, field, man in a shirt and tie with slacks, woman in a gown, need a black umbrella…the rest is a secret, but you and your partner will need to be athletic;) $30

7.) Little girl with mommy’s wedding dress- obviously you will need to provide your own little girl, and your own wedding dress $20

8.) High fashion mom with kids between ages 6-17: this will be a high fashion styled shoot. Client will need to provide own clothes, hair and make-up. $40

9.) Family Vogue- need an attractive family with a chic attitude for this one. Dad in a tailored suit, mom in a gown, kids dressed to impress. $50

10.) A couple married longer than 35 years- looking for some madly in love seniors who want to celebrate the lasting spark and magic only a lifetime together can bring. $20

11.) Open to suggestions for out of the box ideas! $TBD

I Love Lucy

My most recent shoot was of this beautiful little lady named, Lucy! She was about 12 days old, which is older than I like to do most newborn shoots, but I had been sick and didn’t wanna risk spreading the germies. It took her a little bit to settle down enough to go to sleep, she just wanted to play and look around and EAT! Silly girl. At last she was sleeping peacefully and I went to work! I love these photos that I got of her, enjoy!!

My First Military Homecoming

The air at Phoenix Sky Harbor was electric. It was December 21st and there were dozens and dozens of soldiers coming home on leave. As I walked into the airport, I snapped a photo of a Delta plane. I knew Jones would be coming in via Delta. I was so excited. I got there early to make sure I was ready. As I sat going over every second, every potential issue and every tear of joy I was going to have to blink back as I was shooting, I was hearing various sounds all over the terminal. I love people watching, but this was different today. Grandparents were waiting excitedly to see their children and grandkids come in from far away to celebrate the holidays. Friends and lover reunited. So much joy. Of course there were the solitary travelers, with no one, meeting no one, who buzzed rapidly through the crowds, but they were far outnumbered by joyous faces. Every time a new wave of passengers de-boarded and came into the terminal, there would be a few soldiers in the groups. You could always hear when a soldier had come home. If the balloons and signs hadn’t already clued you in, the shouts of welcome did. I heard women crying with joy, men cheering and children screaming, “DADDY!” I turned just as I heard that, to see a little boy of about 6 or 7 leaping into the arms of this daddy. I smiled and teared up a bit. I checked my phone to see what time it was and Jones was about 25 minutes away. I got up to begin looking for family and spotted his mom and brother. I went over and greeted them and stood waiting for his wife, Courtney to arrive. She looked radiant. She came over nervously and said she’d been so excited she was feeling nauseous! I offered a few encouraging words and we waited as more friends and family began to arrive. Then we looked at the clock and it was time. His plane was landing. I ushered her forward closer to where he would be walking out from and we waited….

She was all smiles waiting to see her love. She hadn’t seen him in 6 months. I cannot imagine going that long without my husband by my side. I applaud her and all military wives who make that sacrifice. I think too often, it goes unnoticed. We waited….and waited…and waited and then…… She saw him!

It was tough to get shots of her, she was jumping up and down and bending down and she just couldn’t contain herself! Don’t think I could have either. Eventually, impatience got the better of her and she ran to him as fast as she could and jumped into his arms. He spun around with her just like in the movies and he set her down for a kiss.

They both just beamed and radiated joy. Then he came over to greet the rest of the group which had gathered to meet him. First of which was  his mother.

Being a mother myself, I cannot imagine how it felt to have her baby boy in her arms once again. It was touching on a new and different level. He continued hugging those who had come to wish him welcome, and then wrapped his arms around Courtney once more. I’ve never seen a happier smile.

I took a posed photo at Courtney’s request in front of the airplane sculpture in the center of the terminal.

And then it was off to have a celebratory lunch!

As I walked behind them on the way out, I thought to myself, what a wonderful Christmas present that must be and I promised myself to hug my husband just a little tighter than usual when I got home. Welcome Home, Nick Jones and Merry Christmas to you and Courtney!

Smith Shoot SNEAK PEEK!

I had the pleasure a couple weeks ago of photographing a dear friend of mine and her husband. These two wanted a “cold weather” themed shoot, so I packed up some warm blankets and we found a location that looks about as “winter” as we get around here and went to work! They were so much fun and I can’t wait to work with them again:) Enjoy!

Addison Grace SNEAK PEEK!

This morning I woke up feeling horrible. I was feeling nauseated and just icky. But, I had a shoot to do. So I got up and dropped the kids off at my mother-in-law’s house, picked up some vintage suitcases from a fellow photographer/friend and set off to make some magic. It was about 50 degrees outside where we were shooting at The Grove Church in Chandler and I was wondering how my little model (who also happens to be my niece) was going to do in the chilly morning. I had a request from her mom for my green chair which I happily brought along. I got all set up and waited. Addison and her mom and Aunt Stephany arrived all dressed up and ready for me! We had discussed wanting this shoot to have a vintage almost “Baby Vogue” type feel. Well, despite the chill in the weather, Addison was a trooper and thanks to her very entertaining Aunt who danced around to make her laugh and her mom Brittany who stood by with snacks in hand, my job wasn’t too difficult. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek, and thanks for looking at “life through my lenses.”

LOVE this one <3

I LOVE the vintage look we have here :)

Princess Kyla!

Well, this one was fun! And a bit of a challenge. For starters, she is an absolute pixie. So beautiful and SO tiny! I think she was only around 6lbs! She definitely had her own ideas about what poses she wanted to do and look at the cute ones we got. Her dad and I knew each other way back when, and her mom went to highschool with my sister-in-law! Small world! Josh and Julie are also married highschool sweethearts just like Tim and I. This little lady has two adorable older brothers who I’m sure I’ll post about later when I’ve gotten to edit their photos. We had a lot of fun! Thanks again, Josh and Julie for sharing your beautiful family with me!

Beautiful little lady!

Look at this smile!!!

New Series Announcement!

Dear Readers,

I have decided that although the polls showed the leading opinion as a Disney themed kids series, I will be going with the couples. The main reason for this, is I would need to charge a lot for the kid’s shoots in order to have enough revenue to style the kinds of shoots I want to do. So I’m going with the next highest voted: Couples over 60. But I am changing this category to “Couples married longer than 30 years.” My goal here is to capture that lasting love and chemistry that binds a relationship through the years. Here is the pricing for these shoots:

$60- per location. I.E. if you want to shoot at home and at a park or a place of sentimental value, that is 2 locations and the cost would be $120.
YES! MILITARY MEMBERS MAY TAKE 50% OFF!!!!

With every shoot, you will get an 8×10 and a 5×7 of your choice. A  4×6 “Brag Book” with all photos may be purchased for $30.  All photos will be in an online gallery for downloading or ordering prints. **A CD of images is NOT included in the series shoots**

This special pricing is only available to the Series Shoots, to qualify for these shoots you must have been married to the same person for 30 or more years and able to still smile with love at each other :)

This is an excellent gift idea for Christmas or anniversary. The series will end March 1st 2012 which means you must have had a session before this date.

As Always, if you have any questions regarding the series or details, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Abby & Jorge SNEAK PEEK!

It was my privilege to photograph this exquisite couple once again. This time, up near their home and out in the beautiful landscape God had painted for us to use. The weather was perfect, the scenery couldn’t be beat and I had an absolute BLAST! Please enjoy the sneak peek of photos from this amazing session!

I kept thinking, "Am I really here?" It looked like paradise!

Abby is such a beautiful lady!

One of my favorites, they look so beautiful together!

Sun-kissed love <3

Isn't she just gorgeous?!

I told Abby, "the way to get a man to give his natural smile is to have him look at his woman."

Simple and lovely

Sweet Nothings

Mr. & Mrs.

I hope you love these as much as I do!

Aly & Jordan Sneak Peek!

I hope you love this sneak peek of photos I shot this weekend in and around Flagstaff with this lovely couple. They were so beautiful and natural together and it shows!

This first image was shot in 30 degree weather! My hands were going numb but it was absolutely beautiful out there and thankfully we all had jackets :)

The fog on the lake was so cool!

They had brought along their aviator shades and slipped those on for a very “Top Gun”-esque look. This was a bit tricky shooting with so much sun behind them, but I think it turned out great!

Foreshadowing perhaps? ;)

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek! I absolutely loved this new scenery which I found myself surrounded by and will definitely be shooting up there again!!
